Assistant Fire Chief Khoi Dao introduced members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Director of Public Works Kyle Cason presented the staff report. Cason answered council questions about the project’s additional square footage, an upcoming noise study, the site plan review analysis and the proposed addition of a paramedic squad to the station.
Council Members Mary Ann Pacheco and Cathy Warner, who serve on the Ad Hoc Committee overseeing the station’s design, described the design process and deliberated with staff about project details. Warner moved and Pacheco seconded the authorization; the motion carried unanimously.
The vote authorizes the contract amendment to proceed with final construction plans. The City did not specify a construction start date in the record; staff indicated further design and review steps remain.
The council proceeded with other agenda items after the unanimous approval.
