The Whittier City Council approved its Joint Consent Calendar on June 24, adopting several administrative items and contract approvals. The motion approving the Consent Calendar (with one item pulled for separate consideration) carried unanimously.
Among the items listed on the consent calendar, council authorized the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Michael Baker International, Inc. for on-call planning and environmental services for an additional three years through July 1, 2028, in an amount not to exceed $225,000 annually. The agenda item described the extension as continuing technical and professional on-call planning and environmental services.
The council also approved the recommendation to award the FY 24-25 Sewer Main Spot Repairs construction contract to Carter Sanitation in an amount not to exceed $600,000, rejected other bids, and authorized the Executive Director to execute the construction contract on behalf of the Whittier Utility Authority.
The consent calendar included a recommendation to deny several claims filed against the city; the agenda listed the names of claimants and the recommendation that the claims be denied. All listed consent items were approved by motion and recorded as carried unanimously, except for Item 12.E which had been pulled for separate discussion and approval.
The council did not place any public hearings or staff reports on the agenda for further deliberation that evening. The meeting adjourned at 10:18 p.m.
