Library staff told the advisory committee the library is partnering with the local historical society to serve as a drop‑off station for submissions to a Heritage Station time capsule.
Staff said the time capsule will be sealed on Sept. 26, 2026 and reopened in September 2076, a 50‑year closure. Community members may pick up submission packets at the library, fill out stories and memories on the archival paper provided, and drop their materials at the library. "We are just asking if you could just submit those by September 19," the staff member said, to allow a one‑week window to transfer materials to the historical society.
Staff warned that there are restrictions on submissions: items must be on archival paper (the historical society supplies the paper) and must be written with a No. 2 pencil so writing will not fade. Staff encouraged interested residents to pick up packets and return them at the library before the Sept. 19 deadline.
No formal committee action was recorded on the partnership during the meeting.
