Council approves up to $250,000 for Whittier Boulevard public art project 'Dancing Leaves'

Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Virginia Santana presented the project background and specifications. Santana and artist Jonathan Russell answered council questions about the artists’ connections to Whittier, plaque location and size, flatwork, materials and lighting.
Council Member Cathy Warner moved and Council Member Fernando Dutra seconded adoption of the resolution and authorization for the City Manager to execute an agreement with the artists; the motion carried unanimously.
