Kier introduced himself to the board and the public, saying he most recently worked in Ontario County and previously covered municipal duties in the town of East Bloomfield and the village of Bloomfield. “I look at this opportunity to hopefully leave my mark and continue on all the great things that are going on here,” Kier said.
Mayor Julian Domarats opened the appointment item and invited Kier to speak to the board. Board members welcomed him and asked standard on‑boarding questions before voting. Trustee Wojcah moved the appointment and Trustee Nazarian seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The appointment consolidates enforcement and building inspection responsibilities under one employee, a change the board described as a staff alignment to support code, safety and building review functions going forward. The board encouraged residents to say hello to Kier at Village Hall as he begins his duties.
The board took no additional action on this agenda item after the appointment vote.
