San Bruno council names members to crime prevention, culture & arts and emergency preparedness bodies

San Bruno — The council moved through a series of appointments to fill vacancies on advisory committees and commissions.
For the Crime Prevention Committee the council nominated and approved Matt Jones and Daniel Bitsunaga to fill two vacancies (terms expiring Oct. 31, 2028); the motion to approve both nominees passed unanimously.
For the Culture & Arts Commission (two vacancies with staggered expiration dates) councilmembers nominated Selena Welch, Johnny Huerta and Gary Landis. After voting for the shorter 2026 term, Selena Welch was selected. For the longer 2028 term the council appointed Johnny Huerta.
Vice Mayor Alvarez nominated Isan Alta Alta for the Emergency Preparedness Committee (term to 10/31/2026); the council approved the nomination unanimously.
Council thanked all applicants for applying and noted that candidates not appointed will be held on file for future vacancies.
