The Madison County Commissioners accepted a Planning Board resignation and filled a volunteer fire department trustee position during their July 7 meeting in Virginia City.
Commissioner Duke W. Gilman moved to accept the resignation of Isaac Ingram from the Planning Board; Commissioner William A. Todd seconded. The motion passed on a recorded voice vote of 3-0.
Commissioner Todd then moved to appoint by acclamation Daniel E. Doornbos to serve as a trustee for the Alder Volunteer Fire Department. Commissioner Gilman seconded the appointment motion, which also passed 3-0.
During the public comment period, Sheriff Duncan Hedges invited the commissioners to visit the county's new Evidence Room and said he intended to discuss another forthcoming project with the board at a later date.
The board recessed at 10:04 a.m. and reconvened at 10:30 a.m. to enter a closed session on employee relations. The meeting reopened at 10:40 a.m.; the minutes explicitly state no decisions were made while in closed session.
Commissioner Todd moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:40 a.m.; Commissioner Gilman seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The next regular meeting was scheduled for July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
