Planning Board approves EV chargers at 209 South Plank Road

The Town of Newburgh Planning Board on Nov. 6 granted approval for an amended site plan adding two dual-port EV chargers and associated electrical equipment at 209 South Plank Road (project 25-20).
Nikolas Hontoria, the applicant’s representative, described two dual-port 240-kilowatt chargers with a nearby transformer and service disconnects. Pat Hines said the project was referred to the Orange County Planning Department, which issued a local determination and recommended verifying the utility transfer will not create visible obstructions from the eastern driveway; Hines told the board the transformer is sited far enough back that it should not affect site distance.
Dominic Cordisco confirmed the project is a Type II action under SEQRA and that the public hearing had been waived previously. Ken Mennerich moved to grant approval, Stephanie DeLuca seconded, and the board voted unanimously to approve the amended site plan. Chairman John P. Ewasutyn and board members noted that the applicant must deliver signed site plans for the board record.
