County staff brief commissioners on airport geotech work, contract amendment and insurance contribution

Lloyd (speaker 5) described Item 1: a proposed contract with Yeh and Associates to provide geotechnical services to prepare footings where jet bridges (Gates 4 and 5 and rotunda locations) will be installed; he said the work will include cutting concrete and building subgrade as needed to ensure stable footing for the jet bridges. Commissioners asked about stable footing concerns and delivery timing; Lloyd reported a jet-bridge delivery date of July 1.
Lloyd also said he would add Item 3 changes: consideration of the chair's signature on Amendment 12 to the contract with Corgan for design and construction administration of the taxiway, Charlie and apron at the airport (Nukla). Lloyd said the agenda will be updated to show a $217,000 dollar amount for Amendment 12 and that he would provide the changes to the clerk after the meeting.
Leslie Kwan (speaker 6) asked the chair to sign the annual Colorado counties casualty and property pool agreement for the county's partially self-funded program. Leslie said the agenda listed a county contribution of $761,022 and noted a required $20,000 claims deposit; she said the total payment will be $784,385 and commissioners asked whether the deposit should be added to the agenda amount.
Jen Sherwood (speaker 2) briefly described an annual renewal of an agreement with CASA for Chafee funding, which she said operates as a state pass-through (the county receives the funds and passes them to CASA) and does not require significant action beyond renewal.
Commissioners did not take final votes on the contract amendment or insurance agreement during the work session; Lloyd said he would supply updated agenda language and amounts before the formal meeting.
