Donation announced for Huntington Heritage Days; city readies rodeo and repairs vandalism

Huntington — The City Council on June 17 accepted a donation for Huntington Heritage Days and reviewed event preparations including the rodeo, volunteer support and logistics.
Holly Sebring presented a donation on behalf of Dave Sebring and Huntington Parts City and Genco Mine Company to support Heritage Days. Council also approved a business license for Picture Perfect Cleaning and Remodeling LLC after Mandy Francis spoke on the business’s behalf; Mayor Norton suggested the proprietor consider a handyman-specific license.
Council and staff reported readying the rodeo grounds: the maintenance department received parts to repair sprinkler valves and burned two branch piles since the last meeting. Volunteers including Pacee Allred, Ann Cox and family members repaired vandalism at the rodeo-grounds fire pit. Lesa Miller said rodeo volunteers and queen-contest coordination are in place; Tom Kay reported fireworks shipment arrival (noting the shipment contained 108 fewer shots than the previous year) and said sandbag-filling efforts will commence when a date is set.
The council approved Resolution 7-2026 on donations and sponsorships. Preparations for Heritage Days will continue through late June ahead of the event.
