Revised municipal energy data guides to be posted after staff resolve data discrepancies

Darren Schibler, Senior Planner, reviewed CCRPC's revised municipal energy data guides as part of the ECOS Plan update and said the guides are not yet published because staff identified a few data discrepancies. Schibler said the guides will be posted by the PAC meeting in January after staff resolve those issues.
Schibler walked through the Bolton energy data guide to explain the modeling, use of LEAP data and how grid constraints are portrayed. He said the guides show available land, including rooftop and non‑ground acreage, to allow municipalities to choose how they want to meet energy targets. Paul Conner raised a question about how non‑ground acreage is being addressed for solar generation; Schibler said the guide shows options including rooftop area.
Melanie Needle asked about a discrepancy between the energy data guide and South Burlington's adopted Climate Action Plan; Paul Conner responded that this could be a conversation and noted that better data will continue to emerge as the guides are used.
