UNIFIL reports projectiles, drone incursions and unexploded ordnance in southern Lebanon

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported on July 16 that peacekeepers observed multiple projectile trajectories and airspace violations in southern Lebanon attributed to the Israeli Defense Forces.
UNIFIL said it recorded 13 projectile trajectories this morning, with prior days showing six and 18 trajectories respectively. The force also reported 28 airspace violations detected the previous day and multiple drone incursions, mostly involving small unmanned aerial systems.
On Tuesday, UNIFIL noted two Israeli tanks engaged in an apparent exchange of fire north of the Litani River, outside of UNIFIL's area of operations. Separately, peacekeepers located unexploded ordnance in a private garden in Rumayash and remnants of munitions elsewhere; Lebanese Armed Forces engineers carried out controlled detonations to neutralize some devices.
UNIFIL said it had not detected trajectories originating from non‑state actors since June 21. The press office described the incidents as part of ongoing tensions in the area and stressed the importance of protecting civilians and maintaining safe operating conditions for peacekeepers.
