PAC sets FY26 Municipal Planning Grant and UPWP deadlines; approves two representatives for UPWP selection committee

Darren Schibler, Senior Planner, told the PAC on Dec. 11 that the FY26 Municipal Planning Grants (MPGs) will open on Jan. 27, 2025, with applications due March 31, 2025. He said the FY26 Unified Planning Work Program solicitation is also open; UPWP applications are due Jan. 17, 2025, and staff expect the selection committee to meet three to four times to review proposals.
Schibler said the selection process typically receives about "60–100 applications," and Taylor Newton noted there was less representation from rural communities on past selection committees. PAC members Aaron DeNamur and Alex Weinhagen agreed to serve as PAC representatives on the UPWP selection committee.
Ravi Venkataraman moved to approve Alex Weinhagen and Aaron DeNamur as PAC representatives to the UPWP Selection Committee; Paul Conner seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Earlier in the meeting Katherine Sonnick moved and Alex Weinhagen seconded approval of the Oct. 10, 2024 minutes; that motion also passed unanimously.
