Poteau board administers oath to newly appointed board member and approves several hires for FY 2027

Following an executive session held under Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes §307 to discuss the fulfillment of a vacant board seat, the Poteau Public Schools Board moved to appoint an individual to School Board Seat No. 3. The board completed a roll-call vote and called Miss Gay forward to take the oath of office.
Later in the meeting, the board took personnel actions: it moved to accept the resignation of Kevin Vincent and approved employment for the 2026–27 school year for Emily Humphreys (upper elementary 3rd-grade teacher), Casey Bair (special education teacher at SCC), Taylor Didway (primary paraprofessional), and Amanda Cox (director of child nutrition). The motions were seconded and carried on roll call.
Chair (S3) recognized the newly seated board member and welcomed the new hires. Administrators said no further action was required during the meeting and that personnel paperwork and onboarding would proceed through normal administrative processes.
