Neighbors told owner plans for homeless shelter at 41 New Bridge Road; mayor schedules work-session discussion

Acting Municipal Clerk Emily Thalwitzer reported to the Quinton Township Committee that neighbors have been told the new owner of 41 New Bridge Road plans to fix up the property to open a homeless shelter. Thalwitzer said she has notified the township housing/zoning officer about the report.
Mayor Joseph Hannagan asked the clerk to invite Mr. Schmid to the township work session scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026 so the committee can discuss the property and any zoning or housing issues directly with the owner. No formal application, permit, or vote regarding the property was recorded during the Jan. 13 meeting.
