Residents press Quinton officials on potholes and social media; council hears volunteer squad and road reports

Remster also stated that the property next to Vulcan is for sale and that the number of trucks servicing Vulcan has declined; Mayor Joseph Hannagan said he has a meeting scheduled with Vulcan to discuss the situation.
T. Boker asked whether newly introduced ordinances would be posted online. The municipal solicitor said ordinances are required to be posted on the township website (effective March 1), may be accessible through a state website link, and are also available at the clerk’s office, with a possible short grace period while a new state site is rolled out.
R. Warfle asked about establishing a Quinton Township municipal page on social media. The solicitor said the township has discussed creating a page or a subscription newsletter but noted that a Facebook page would require a township ordinance and an official administrator to regulate the account.
Resident J. Elwell reported a large pothole at the end of Cottage Ave; Deputy Mayor James Smith acknowledged the township had been made aware of the pothole previously and indicated crews would address potholes as weather permits. During the meeting Deputy Mayor Smith also delivered departmental reports: Quinton Volunteer Ambulance Squad (March calls: 6) and the Quinton Volunteer Fire Company (February alarms: 5; mutual aid: 2). The Road Department reported 44 man-hours responding to February snow operations. Commissioner Ramsey provided an update on Acton Station Road, stating the hope the project would be completed by the end of Summer 2026. The minutes also note the Quinton Volunteer Ambulance Squad's annual Easter Egg Hunt fundraiser scheduled March 29 at 2:00 p.m.
The council closed public session and adjourned with routine procedural motions.
