Fire house request prompts Quinton committee to begin referendum process for games of chance

The Fire House requested a game license or permit, but neither the clerk nor the solicitor could locate an existing ordinance authorizing games of chance. The committee was told that if a majority of voters approve the referendum in November, the township committee could then introduce and pass an ordinance to permit games of chance.
Acting Municipal Clerk Emily Thalwitzer and Solicitor Vigilante were instructed to draft the required resolution and to place it on the April 7 agenda to start the process. No ordinance or local permitting changes were made at the March 18 work session itself.
