Committee forwards Monroe High School pride parade and Main Street Monroe concerts to City Council

The Public Safety Committee approved two special-event permit recommendations and forwarded them to the full City Council.
Staff said Monroe High School’s annual pride parade will use the same route as prior years and is expected to need little to no police presence. The committee voted to approve and forward that recommendation.
Staff also presented a request from Main Street Monroe to hold a series of summer concerts on The Square starting Memorial Day weekend (May 31). Committee members approved the permit recommendation and forwarded it to Council.
Both items passed on voice/roll-call votes and will be considered by the City Council for final action.
