Committee backs school-day no-parking zone to create daycare bus drop on 15th Street

Staff said the city measured the requested stretch at about 136 feet and that neighbors and the church director had agreed to the plan.
Staff described the request as similar to previous small bus-stop accommodations the city created for other daycares and said the restriction would apply Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–4 p.m. outside of those hours calendar parking rules (including winter alternating-side parking) would remain in effect.
Committee members asked about traffic and parking impacts; staff said they had observed little neighborhood weekday parking and that the church lot covers some Sunday demand. A motion to approve the school-day no-parking zone carried on a roll call and the recommendation will be sent to City Council for final action.
