Pardeeville board approves $1 sale of Doug Hare Way parcel to A&M Development; treasurer's departure ruled job abandonment, DPW foreman placed on PIP

The Pardeeville Village Board unanimously approved an offer from A&M Development/Schneider Group to purchase a parcel on Doug Hare Way for a purchase price of $1, with the understanding that the Village would not provide funding toward the development.

The decision followed a closed-session negotiation process. Trustee Kocher moved to approve the offer; President Engelmann seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote of 7-0.

Also arising from closed session, the board accepted a motion from President Engelmann to treat Treasurer/Finance Director Julie Reis's action of "walking off the job" on June 3, 2026, as job abandonment, immediately releasing her from Village employment. The motion was seconded by Trustee Miller and carried by voice vote.

In a third action tied to closed-session personnel discussions, Trustee Amelio moved to place Public Works Foreman Beau Z. on a three-month Performance Improvement Plan with a monthly assessment; Trustee Kopfhamer seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board did not provide additional details about performance metrics in open session.

The Doug Hare Way parcel had been the subject of earlier public presentations at the same meeting: Matt Paske described potential building plans on Doug Hare Way, and A&M representatives Matt Schneider and Allison Schneider presented a development concept that included a zero-lot-line design to allow individuals to own their homes. The board had moved into closed session earlier in the evening under Wis. Stat. a719.85(1)(e) to negotiate the purchase of public property and developer selection.
