Veterans Rock benefit concert set for July 25 at Cape Cod Beer to fund veterans' transportation

The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center will hold its third annual Veterans Rock concert on July 25 at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis, running from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., outreach coordinator Barbara Ann Foley said.
Foley said the event is free to the public and family friendly, featuring six bands with 15-minute breaks between sets, raffles and on-site activities. The concert will open with Club 9 Ball and also include Vanna Pachella, the Fool’s Agenda, the Dan Lawson Band, Cranberry Highway and UBU.
The center is using the fundraiser to support its transportation program, which provides free rides to veterans for medical and other appointments that they otherwise could not reach — including trips to Providence and Boston. "A lot of vets have no way to get to their medical, emergency appointments or maintenance appointments, and we take them for free," Foley said.
Organizers said the Cape Cod Corvette Club will stage a "vets-for-vets" car loop and then park on-site about 1:00 p.m., offering attendees a chance to view classic cars. Foley said there will also be raffles and other activities to keep the day family-focused.
Foley told listeners that attendees do not need to preregister to attend and that donations may be made through the outreach group's website. The event organizers emphasized accessibility: seating and covered areas are available in case of poor weather.
The concert is in its third year and, according to Foley, was created to honor veteran Arthur Devine by his sons (the founders of Club 9 Ball). She said the organizers hope the event will both celebrate veterans and fund the outreach center’s transportation work.
