At 7:03 p.m. on Feb. 23 the Eunice City Council moved into a closed session under N.M.S.A. 1978 §10-15-1(H)(2) to discuss personnel matters related to volunteers and hiring procedures within the Fire Department.
The motion specified two items for discussion: (A) a personnel matter involving a volunteer applicant, hiring procedures and related concerns within the Fire Department, and (B) compliance with hiring policies within the Fire Department. The motion was made by Councilor Erica Jones and seconded by Councilor Ty Chanley; the council voted unanimously to enter closed session.
The council returned to open session at 8:02 p.m.; the minutes state that matters discussed in the closed meeting were limited to those specified in the motion and that no action was taken.
