Trappe allocates remaining ARPA funds for employee bonuses, sewer screen rehab and lead-line inventory

Trappe — At its Dec. 4 meeting the Trappe Town Council directed the spending of remaining federal ARPA funds on employee bonuses and sewer system work.
Town Administrator Erin Braband presented an updated ARPA financial report. Commissioner Chase moved to give every town employee a one-time COVID bonus of $500; Commissioner Sullivan seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council awarded the influent screen rehabilitation contract to Bearing Construction for $130,154. Commissioners then instructed Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan to draft an addendum to the sewer-liner request for proposals (RFP), currently due Dec. 23, to increase the contract ceiling to $75,000. The council also requested Administrator Braband contact Davis, Bowen and Friedel to secure an amendment to include additional lead-line inventory services at a cost of $40,000 using remaining ARPA funds. A workshop was scheduled for Dec. 23 at 1:00 p.m. to finalize the remaining ARPA allocations.
All motions concerning ARPA fund use were adopted unanimously. The council did not record public opposition during discussion recorded in the meeting minutes.
