Beaver Creek Elementary District board backs five-year audit contract with Advisent Assurance LLP

The Beaver Creek Elementary District (4481) Governing Board voted June 18 to approve a recommendation to award a five‑year contract for audit services to Advisent Assurance LLP, pending final approval from the Arizona Auditor General.

Superintendent Allie Wheeler told the board the district completed a request‑for‑proposal process and received four proposals; Advisent was among them and is the district’s recommended auditor for the contract period covering years ending June 30, 2026, through June 30, 2030. "Yes they are, however, they were one of four proposals we received," Wheeler said when asked whether Advisent is the district’s current auditor.

Susi Edgington moved to discuss and approve the contract; Renee Dial seconded the motion. Business Manager Ori Womack told the board that Advisent offers year‑round consultation at no additional cost, allowing district staff to seek clarification from auditors on new and existing requirements. "Another great service Advisent is able to provide is consultation throughout the year at no additional cost," Womack said.

The board approved the recommendation by roll call vote. The minutes record members Lincoln Thomasson (President), Susi Edgington (Clerk), Dr. Richard Hector Sr., and Renee Dial voting "Aye." Carlos Ramos was listed as absent. The district noted that the award is subject to final approval by the Arizona Auditor General as required under A.R.S. §§15‑914(E) and 41‑1279.21(A)(4).

The meeting opened at 5:30 p.m. and was adjourned at 5:37 p.m. after the board completed the agenda.
