Regarding billing invoice 2024-07, the commission recorded that the individual involved has made two payments of $100 and currently owes $245.06; the remaining balance was due April 21, 2026. By consensus the commission agreed to review the account statement at the May meeting to confirm whether the balance has been paid in full.
On the 4th of July parade route, commissioners discussed several route options and operational concerns, including the width of roadways and the size of large apparatus in the parade lineup. One suggestion was to keep the main trucks at the station for safety and maneuverability. A motion by Dave Bohm, seconded by Kevin Watermolen, deferred final route selection until the May meeting so the commission can make a definitive decision then.
The meeting also included routine reports from Fire Chief Kevin Lynch that the department successfully passed the 2% state inspection and that members participated in heavy extraction and active shooter training at the local school. The commission noted equipment needs, including additional reciprocating (Sawzall) saws. The next commission meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., and a Department Night Golf Outing is set for May 30.
