The board voted unanimously to increase the district business manager’s salary in two steps: a $5,000 raise effective January 2025 and a second $5,000 raise effective July 1, 2025. The motion to adopt that pay schedule was made by Elnabeth Grau, secretary, and seconded by Kathy Edwards, vice president; the motion carried on a 5-0 vote.
Board members also approved the consent agenda on a single 5-0 vote (motion by Phillip Borden; second by Chantry Borden). Members heard presentations from teachers Daniell Foote, Missy Bone, Kaitlyn Varney and Gabby Borden and a presentation from senior-class representatives about a proposed senior trip; the minutes record no formal action on either presentation.
During the meeting the board received the school report card, the athletic director’s report, the principal’s report and the superintendent’s report; the minutes indicate these were informational and do not record further action on those items.
Later in the meeting the board entered an executive session to discuss limited personnel matters under statute 10-15-1(H)2. The motion to go into executive session was made by Chantry Borden and seconded by Kathy Edwards; roll-call votes were recorded as yes from Phillip Borden, Kathy Edwards, Colt Grau, Chantry Borden and Elnabeth Grau. Closed session began at 6:58 p.m. The board reconvened in open session at 7:43 p.m. on a motion by Kathy Edwards, seconded by Chantry Borden; the minutes record no formal public action resulting from the closed session. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. on a motion by Phillip Borden.
The minutes note that individuals needing assistance to attend the meeting could call the district office; no additional scheduling or budgetary details were recorded in the minutes about how the salary increase will be funded.
