Supervisors approve tax-credit resolutions, road project finalization and grant endorsements
Summary
Marion County supervisors approved a bundle of routine resolutions and administrative items on June 23, including multiple FY27 tax-credit/exemption lists, final acceptance of the Junction 92 maintenance facility, endorsements for trail-related grant applications, an employment agreement for the county engineer, appointments to the development commission and several facilities requests.
During a regularly scheduled meeting the Marion County Board of Supervisors approved several routine but consequential administrative actions.
Resolutions approving recommended lists for Homestead Tax Credits (Resolution 2026-74), Homestead 65 Tax Exemptions (2026-75), Disabled Veteran Homestead Tax Credits (2026-76), Military Tax Exemptions (2026-77) and Family Farm Tax Credits (2026-78) were approved as presented; the meeting materials note lists are available in the Auditor’s Office and via OnDemand.
The board approved a Service Agreement to participate in the ISAC HIPAA Program for 7/1/2026–6/30/2027, accepted Change Order No. 12 for the Junction 92 Road Department maintenance facility (a net contract deduction of $16,094.55) and approved final completion and acceptance for the project with Breiholz Construction. The board endorsed a State Recreational Trails (SRT) grant application and authorized a letter of support to help secure local match, and approved a CIRTPA Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant application endorsement that commits a 20% local match for the Marion County portion of the project from the Prairie River Trail in Monroe to Briggs Street.
The board also approved Tyler Christian’s Marion County Engineer employment agreement (7/1/2026–6/30/2029), appointed three members to the Marion County Development Commission, authorized limited use of county cleanup funds for right-of-way obstruction removal with potential assessment to landowners, approved facilities requests for the courthouse generator wrap and gazebo decorations and authorized a $6,000 FY27 Peer Recovery Support Services jail program contract with Full Circle Recovery funded by opioid settlement dollars.
Most motions were approved with Jahner and Mueller voting aye; Supervisor McCombs was absent from the meeting.
