Marion County supervisors table proposed overtime changes after road department petition

Christian requested “more time to study, review and ability to propose alternatives to the handbook changes.”
Supervisor Jim Mueller moved and Jahner seconded motions to close discussion, receive and file the petition, and to table Agenda Item #1 (Resolution 2026-85) for 90 days. The motions carried with Jahner and Mueller voting aye; Supervisor Steve McCombs was absent. The board provided no additional details on a new timetable beyond the 90-day tabling.
The tabling preserves the status quo for overtime and compensatory-time calculations while county staff and affected employees consider alternatives. The board packet notes that the handbook changes followed a recent wage study; no further formal revisions were approved at the June 23 meeting.
