A member of the town's CIP subgroup reported the CIC reviewed recent storm damage and considered tapping a previously established $100,000 road fund for immediate repairs; the town also set aside $25,000 for fleet updates that may be applied sooner for emergencies. The member said Joy Gray will ask department heads and boards to update capital improvement requests by September.
On the master plan, the board heard that a combined outreach effort produced 144 community survey responses and a small set of stakeholder interviews (about six). The outreach subcommittee summarized results in a 15‑page report and a shorter stakeholder memo; staff will circulate draft materials to the planning board for review before formal adoption.
Funding and regional services drew discussion: one member questioned whether the $5,000 dues to the North Country Council are justified and suggested comparing benefits and costs with alternative regional planning organizations. Other members said the Council provided substantial assistance on the master plan and that its fees may be offset by professional expertise and discounts included in the master plan work.
Other administrative items: a wetlands‑mapping link will be circulated to help overlay wetlands on property parcels, and a discrepancy between commercial setbacks in zoning and site‑plan review regulations was noted; the board asked staff to explore drafting a zoning amendment and the required public‑hearing schedule.
