Warrick County school board approves EdFlex waiver to focus Title IV funds on health and safety staffing

Dr. Redmond explained that when Title IV allocations meet or exceed typical thresholds, 20% normally must go to well-rounded education, 20% to safe and healthy schools and the remainder to technology; the EdFlex waiver lets the district concentrate funds where they are most needed. No members of the public commented on the waiver during the meeting.
Board members noted the district has used the waiver before. After brief discussion the board approved the waiver by roll call, with the chair calling for the public posting required under federal law.
Next steps: the Federal Programs office will post the waiver application and implement the reallocation of funds if the waiver remains in effect.
