Clarkstown officials praise turnout, safety after America’s 250th July Fourth festivities

Clarkstown officials and community leaders on July Fourth praised the town’s America 250 celebrations, saying thousands of residents attended a concert series, a large fireworks display and a drone show that organizers said was bigger than last year.
"I am so thrilled and delighted that so many of you came out to celebrate the town of Clarkstown America 250 celebration," Supervisor George Homan said, thanking residents and noting that the crowd arrived late because of 94-degree heat.
"Clarkstown once again put on a spectacular 4th of July fireworks show," U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler said, adding that it was "awesome to see thousands of residents come out and enjoy the festivities."
Town Parks and Recreation officials said turnout was strong across events. "We had the concert, fireworks, drone show, amazing turnout at all the events," Matt Veronese of Parks and Recreation said, and Brian Tessman, chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission, said the town hosted a concert and drone show as part of the holiday observances.
Chief James Fay of the Clarkstown Police Department said public-safety operations went smoothly. "The police kept everybody safe, and all was well," Fay said, calling the fireworks and drone show "outstanding."
Other local leaders, including a town council member from Ward 2, Mike Graziano, and a Ward 4 representative mentioned at the event, echoed praise for the concerts and family-friendly atmosphere. Justice of the peace or judge Keith Braunfitzel offered celebratory remarks congratulating the community on the 250th anniversary.
Officials encouraged residents to check the town website for the schedule of continuing summer concerts and related events.
The remarks were ceremonial; no formal council actions, votes or directives were recorded during the event.
