During the Nov. 10 meeting, a district presenter (speaker 4) recommended the board approve a distribution request to the Public School Building Repair and Renovation Fund (North Carolina Educational Lottery funds) and to NCDPI for roof repairs at South Edgecombe Middle School. The presenter estimated the repair cost at $190,000.
A board member (speaker 19) moved to approve the submission; the motion was seconded and the board carried the motion by voice vote.
Later in the meeting the board approved a contract with Woodland Construction for construction management at-risk services for the 2025–26 school year after a motion and second. The contract was approved by voice vote; the transcript excerpt does not list the contract value.
