School board approves 2025–26 comprehensive improvement plans and clears submission to state

Edgecombe County board voted Nov. 10 to approve districtwide 2025–26 comprehensive school improvement plans (Title I/CSI/TSI) and authorized staff to submit the final plans through the state's Indistar platform.
A district presenter (speaker 8) described the final comprehensive school improvement plans the district intends to submit to the state for 2025–26, saying the plans are "not static" but living documents that will be updated monthly as schools add action steps and review data. "You have a hard copy of the final plans that they would like to present to the state board," the presenter said.
Board members asked clarifying questions about baseline data and the use of many educational acronyms; the presenter acknowledged the complexity and said the district will include a glossary and that schools are continuing cleanup and archiving of older baseline data in line with recent state guidance.
A motion (speaker 24) to approve the comprehensive plans, including Title I, CSI and TSI school plans for the 2025–26 school year, was seconded (speaker 21) and carried by voice vote. The approval authorizes district staff to submit the plans on the Indistar platform and to continue monthly adjustments and reporting.
The district noted that the plans would be submitted for the December deadline and that schools will continue to refine action steps and data as part of an ongoing improvement cycle.
