Polk County staff informed the Board of Commissioners on July 15 that a pre‑construction conference with the county’s paving contractor resulted in a proposed schedule to overlay Enterprise Road next Friday and Saturday and a request to close the road to through traffic for the two days.
"They proposed a schedule for paving that road of next Friday and Saturday, but they would like to close the road to through traffic. Local access would be allowable," a staff member said. The contractor submitted two traffic control plans — one that assumes closure and one that does not — and staff said the contractor will post signage once the county approves the traffic control plan.
Commission members acknowledged the local impact and noted they had contacted adjacent farmers; staff said affected farmers indicated they could accommodate a two‑day closure. The board agreed to allow staff to proceed with noticing the closure and approving the contractor’s traffic control plan.
The work is described as a short, two‑day closure; the contractor will implement signage and traffic control consistent with the county's approved plan.
