The motion to approve was moved by the board president and seconded by Mister Rubin; the chair called for the ayes and recorded the motion as carried.
Staff also presented the formula used to calculate the out-of-county tuition rate and reported the FY27 rate as $10,713. Board members discussed future administrative fees for out-of-county students; any such fee would be effective in FY28 and require notice to affected families.
The board approved bundled annual resolutions authorizing routine administrative actions (payroll, leave policies) and accepted the district's annual BPSA technology grant (approximately $102,000) and its intended use. Members also approved the May batch of VSBA policy updates, which staff said will be uploaded to the district policy site with redlines and explanations for review.
In reports, staff said projected grants already identified for the coming fiscal year total $981,000 and noted a pending Department of Education school-security equipment grant of $41,950. Finance staff described a plan to centralize the handling of pending credit-card charges to reduce cumulative finance fees (estimated about $1,000) and to improve audit tracking.
The board scheduled a retreat for July 27 and asked staff to prepare model policy language and a facilities calendar for future review. The meeting moved to a closed session later in the evening to discuss personnel and superintendent goals.
