TPAC recommends MTIP amendments; fatal crash update reports three Clackamas County deaths

Will Farley, representing Lake Oswego on TPAC, briefed the committee on recent TPAC business. He said TPAC’s June fatal crash update showed three fatalities in Clackamas County.
TPAC discussed two proposed amendments to the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program. The first would program funds for projects on Oregon Highway 8 and Oregon Highway 224; the second would adjust funding for Rose Quarter projects on I‑5 to respond to the rescission of a federal grant. Will said both amendments were recommended to JPAAC for approval.
Jeff Owen (Clackamas County) added that TPAC will take August off and plans to reconvene in early September. He also said TPAC will continue to spend substantial time on the RTP this fall and will follow up on representation and outreach questions raised by the subcommittee.
What’s next: The MTIP amendments recommended by TPAC will be considered by JPAAC at its next meeting.
