High-school screening shows mostly low-risk students; discipline incidents and tiered interventions outlined

The presenter said the December FastBridge screening established a baseline for grades 9–12; most students fell into the 'low risk' category, while smaller groups were identified as 'some risk' or 'high risk' and will receive targeted supports. “This indicates that our core instruction is effective for many learners while still identifying some subset of students who require additional support,” the presenter said.
Honor-roll totals were included: 6 students on the superintendent’s honor roll and additional students on principal and standard honor rolls, totaling 37 students who earned academic honors for the fall semester. The report also listed disciplinary incidents for the semester: three incidents of disorderly conduct, two incidents for tobacco use, and multiple incidents related to vaping and THC; the presenter described an implemented program intended to reduce recidivism for involved students.
Attendance categories and action plans were explained: the school identifies students with 3–5 absences, 5–7 absences, 7 or more and 10 or more, and applies tiered interventions (parent contacts, improvement plans, contracts and weekly monitoring) depending on level. The presenter said some makeup testing remained to be completed and that teams had developed action plans for tiered interventions.
The presenter closed by describing plans to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, provide tier 2 small-group supports and tier 3 individualized plans for high-risk students. The board did not take further formal action on the report during the meeting.
