The Village of North Bay Board of Review voted unanimously June 15 to reduce the assessed valuation for 3715 N Main St (objectors Joyce E. Papes and James McBain).
Chairperson Roger Mellem introduced the case and Clerk Dori A. Panthofer swore in witnesses, including Joyce E. Papes, James McBain and Assessor Dan McHugh. After the Board completed its Findings of Fact and Determinations, Trustee/Constable Rocco Castellano moved to revise the assessment; Vice Chair/Trustee Paul Schroder seconded the motion.
The Board revised the assessment from Land $158,100; Improvements $247,200; Total $405,300 to Land $128,100; Improvements $247,200; Total $375,300. A roll-call vote recorded Roger Mellem, Paul Schroder, Rocco Castellano and Robert E. O’Brien as voting AYE; the motion carried.
The reduction affects the taxable assessed value listed for tax parcel 161-04-23-33-001-000 (3715 N Main St). The minutes record that no amendments or other adjustments to improvements were made; only the land valuation was lowered.
The Board considered but did not schedule additional Board of Review sessions because no further objections were submitted before the established cutoff. The Board adjourned at 6:35 PM.
Next steps: The minutes record the Board’s determination and the revised valuation; the transcript does not specify subsequent administrative steps (such as re-notification or changes to tax bills).
