Salem Township supervisors approve $78,690 grant application for Seanor Park equipment

The resolution authorizes the township to apply for a Category 4 Facilities Local Share Assessment grant and designates an agent to act on behalf of the township in all matters related to the request. The motion passed with Supervisors Bob Zundel, Kenneth Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe voting in favor.
During discussion, the board reviewed vendor quotes for two shed sizes (a 24-by-28-foot option and a 40-by-40-foot option) and two lawn mowers with different deck sizes. The board decided to request funding for the larger shed (quoted at $64,780) and the larger mower, setting the total grant ask at $78,690.28. Township officials said that if the grant award is less than requested, the township would cover the remaining cost from Act 13 funds or other local sources.
The board’s action authorizes the submission of pro forma documents required by the Commonwealth Funding Agency and designates a township agent to execute and submit those materials. No public comment on the item was recorded in the transcript.
After completing the grant authorization, Supervisor Kerry Jobe moved to adjourn the special meeting. The motion passed unanimously; the board set its next regular meeting for Oct. 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Salem Township Municipal Building and adjourned at 11:17 a.m.
