The Village of Lannon Board voted unanimously Dec. 8 to recommend Kapor Associates as the engineering and planning firm for the Good Hope Road reconstruction RFP, with the village to seek final approval from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Trustee Battist, who led the review with Trustees Willard and President Yates and with Engineer Ben Wood, said the board received six proposals and scored them against established categories. Battist said he would verify references for the recommended firm before the village forwards the selection to DOT for approval.
Trustee Sommers asked the attorney to check for any pending litigation related to prospective contractors; the attorney recommended using CCAP checks to confirm whether litigation or other encumbrances exist. Willard and Sommers moved and seconded the recommendation; the motion carried unanimously.
The board did not vote to award a contract at the meeting. The next steps are Battist’s final reference checks and submittal of the recommended firm to DOT for its review and authorization.
