The council approved Resolution 501 to extend the city's audit-services contract with PKS & Company for three more years, authorizing the mayor to negotiate annual engagement fees.
"I am bringing to you tonight resolution 501 to request extension with for their services for 3 more years and gives the mayor the power to negotiate the fees to go with their annual contracts," said Joyce Morgan, the staff presenter. Morgan emphasized the value of the auditors' year-round consulting relationship, rather than limiting contact to the audit period.
Council moved to approve the resolution, the motion was seconded and the council approved the extension by voice vote. Staff said engagement letters will be updated annually as part of the ongoing work.
