New commissioners introduce themselves as zoning rewrite approaches

Brian Green (returning commissioner) and others summarized their planning experience and emphasized the importance of the comprehensive plan as the town's guiding document and the need to align zoning with the comp plan.
Commissioners encouraged new members to review archived meetings and the draft zoning materials before the October council presentation so they are prepared for the coming workload. Several commissioners stressed that the commission's work is a team effort and highlighted staff support for the zoning process.
The introductions closed the new-member orientation portion of the agenda; commissioners noted the next regular meetings on Oct. 3 and Oct. 17 and that the commission will finalize an October agenda by Monday of the following week.
