Planning Commission elects Ronald Rise Sr. chair and names Brian C. Green vice chair

The Purcellville Planning Commission on Sept. 19 elected Ronald Rise Sr. as its chair and Brian C. Green as vice chair to fill unexpired one-year terms.
Brian Green nominated Ronald Rise Sr. for chair, and the council liaison moved that the commission elect Ron Rye Sr. to serve through Feb. 6, 2025; the motion was seconded and carried with no opposition. The commission then moved and approved Brian C. Green as vice chair to the same term date.
The appointments were followed by a procedural motion to reappoint Kendall Winneteski as the Planning Commission secretary. The commission approved the reappointment and then adopted Resolution 24-0702 to set the commission's regular meeting times as the first and third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
The chair assumed control of the meeting immediately after the officer elections and thanked commissioners and staff for their support.
What this means: The officer elections fill unexpired terms through Feb. 6, 2025, and leave the commission positioned to proceed with the upcoming zoning ordinance work scheduled for October. The meeting-schedule resolution allows the town clerk to publish the 2025 calendar of regular meetings without ad hoc special-meeting notices.
The commission adjourned after completing the agenda.
