Salem Township adopts 2025 budget, says there will be no tax increase

The Salem Township Board of Supervisors on Dec. 18 adopted the township's 2025 budget and fixed the 2025 tax rate, voting unanimously in favor of Resolution No. 31-2024. Board member Bob Zundel stated, "there will not be a tax increase for 2025."
The board also approved monthly expenditures totaling $114,620.74, with line items listed by the board as: General Fund $41,641.49; Payroll Fund $66,781.99; Sewage $983.00; Street Lights $394.96; Liquid Fuels $1,282.91; Machinery $1,650.39; Special Projects $1,886.00. The expenditures motion passed with Bob Zundel, Ken Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe recorded as voting for the motion.
During discussion on expenditures, resident Connie Mattei raised a question about a $145 charge on a Jobe Inspection invoice, saying the fee is not part of the fee schedule and that it related to a UCC violation. The board recorded the question during the approval process; no change to the expenditures vote was recorded at the meeting.
The board also voted to advertise its Re-Organization Meeting for Jan. 6, 2025 and the Auditors Meeting for Jan. 7, 2025. The meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
