The Salem Township Board of Supervisors on Sept. 18 adopted Ordinance No. 01‑2024, which amends and restates the township’s restricted roadways ordinance (previously No. 05‑2014) to affirm and impose weight limits on various township highways, roadways and bridges.
Separately, the board approved a Penn Home & Farm LLC request to add Lot 1 to the property of John and Patricia Kilpatrick (Tax Map #57‑12‑00‑0‑021) but attached a list of technical and legal conditions that must be met before final recording. Required items include showing front/building setback lines and side/rear setbacks, labeling driveways, adding right‑of‑way widths and identification for Mark Drive, displaying pre‑ and post‑subdivision acreage, identifying any sanitary sewer easements, obtaining SEO/Township/DEP approvals, providing Department of State corporate documentation for Penn Home & Farm LLC, and adding a revision number/date on the plan.
The board also conditionally approved a two‑lot reconfiguration involving parcels in both Salem Township and the Municipality of Murrysville (applicants Florence Jean Artman and Sara Starrett). That approval requires multiple plan edits, a Sewage Planning Module submission, and explicit approval from Murrysville before final action. Planning Commission Chair Connie Mattei described the Artman/Starrett plan as "very complicated" because the parcels cross municipal boundaries and carry three county tax map numbers; she said Murrysville's sign‑off and a Sewage Facilities Planning Module are outstanding before final approval.
Each land‑use motion passed unanimously with the three supervisors voting in favor.
