Councilor Kerns moved to remove and satisfy the lien for the full amount (approximately $2,690); Councilor Steadman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Manager Wells presented two quotes for a canoe/kayak launch at the American Legion ball field: Blum Property Services, LLC ($18,541.50) and Construction Services of PA ($16,679). Because the cost was under the borough bidding threshold ($23,200), council considered quotes rather than formal bids. Councilor Osborn moved to accept Construction Services of PA's $16,679 quote contingent on receiving an easement from the American Legion; Councilor Kerns seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Manager Wells also summarized the Renaissance Grant round: seven applications totaling $60,606 in project costs requested $23,600 in grant funding, and $90,547.35 remained in the Renaissance Grant fund. She recommended approving the seven applications to help combat blight. Councilor Steadman moved to approve the recommended awards totaling $23,600 for the 2024/2025 grant period; Councilor Osborn seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also passed a resolution accepting the Erie Area Council of Government (EACOG) audit, as required after COG members reviewed and accepted the report. Other manager announcements included a PennDOT grant letter of support for charging and fueling infrastructure along U.S. Route 6, upcoming community events tied to Erie County planning and the Erie‑to‑Pittsburgh trail head, and several training and awards‑season calendar items. The meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
