The manager noted the revision also refines distinctions between dogs, cats, livestock and other animals and expands language on animal cruelty, neglect and abandonment. No members of the public spoke on the ordinance, and the council adopted it by unanimous consent.
What’s next: The ordinance takes effect according to the city code adoption schedule; related zoning or chicken‑keeping questions noted by council members will be handled through a separate zoning ordinance as needed.
