Ridgeway council appoints William and Darman Westberg to planning commission

The Ridgeway Town Council on Feb. 4, 2025, approved two nominations to the town’s Planning Commission, voting to appoint Darman Westberg and William Westberg to terms running through Dec. 31, 2029.
Mike Bass moved to nominate Darman Westberg; Maeve McCulloch seconded the motion and the council approved it. Brad Hairston moved to nominate William Westberg; McCulloch seconded and that motion also passed. The minutes record the motions and seconders but do not include a roll-call vote tally.
During the Planning and Zoning portion of the meeting, staff member Ronnie Garren reported that resident Gwyn McVicker has expressed interest in adding a carport to her mother’s home. Garren told the council that such a change requires zoning approval and that no application had been submitted as of the meeting.
The appointments were recorded in the meeting minutes as effective beginning January 2025 and extending through Dec. 31, 2029. The council took no further action on the carport inquiry at the meeting.
