Clifton Council approves routine minutes and treasurer report; reimburses AV purchase, OKs Lions banner

The Clifton Town Council approved several routine and administrative items at its March 3 meeting.
Councilmember Darrell Poe moved to approve the Feb. 3 regular meeting minutes and the Feb. 16 strategic planning session minutes; Vice Mayor Jay Davis seconded and the motion passed by poll, 6-0. Town Clerk Kerrie Gogoel had presented the minutes and other clerk business earlier in the meeting.
Town Treasurer Suzy Murphy presented the monthly financial report; Vice Mayor Jay Davis moved to approve the treasurer’s report, Councilmember Steve Effros seconded, and the motion passed, 6-0.
Council voted on reimbursement for audiovisual equipment purchased for Town meeting use. Councilmember Steve Effros requested reimbursement; Vice Mayor Jay Davis moved to reimburse Effros $2,200.48 and Councilmember Darrell Poe seconded. In a roll-call vote the tally was five ayes and one abstention (Effros). The motion carried.
The council approved a request from the Clifton Lions Club to hang a banner over Main Street from April 11–28 to promote Drug Takeback Day. Mayor Lynn Screen moved to approve the banner and Councilmember Steve Effros seconded; the motion passed by poll, 6-0. The mayor also requested the banner event be included in the next town newsletter.
No other formal ordinances or budget appropriations were enacted during the meeting; several items were discussed for future meetings or referral to staff and committees.
