Galesville finance committee approves minutes, reviews March budgets and bills

The City of Galesville Finance and Insurance Committee met on April 8, 2025. Committee Chair Diane Redsten called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; members R. Todd and J. Swing and City Clerk/Treasurer J. Hess were present.
R. Todd moved and J. Swing seconded approval of the committee’s March 11, 2025 minutes; the motion carried. The committee then reviewed March overtime reports, payroll and account check registers, and verified journal entries as part of routine financial oversight. City Clerk/Treasurer J. Hess presented the March Treasurer’s report and compared it with bank statements for the committee’s review.
Committee members reviewed budget-to-actual comparisons for the General, Sewer and Water funds for March 2025. The minutes record no requests for budget transfers and no additional recommendations beyond routine verification. The committee reviewed and approved bills for payment to be presented at the April Council meeting.
The committee recorded that it had no recommendation to the Council at this time. R. Todd moved to adjourn at 6:33 p.m.; J. Swing seconded and the motion carried.
The Finance and Insurance Committee did not set future meeting dates or direct staff to take further action in these minutes; items reviewed were entered for Council consideration and routine recordkeeping.
